This is actually known as a "Linen Tester" because square opening at the bottom is in a 1" square and you can count the threads on linen (or any other fabric). It folds up into a tiny little box and can be carried easily with you to the library. It has a 6x power and although that might seem low, it is amazing what this little magnifier can do! Great Quality! Measures about 2" tall.
